MINNESOTA SUMMONS KAMPFER AND HAULA FROM IOWAMINNESOTA SUMMONS KAMPFER AND HAULA FROM IOWA Wild Releases Forward Justin Mercier from a PTO Des Moines, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Monday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Erik Haula (pronounced HOW-la) and defenseman Steven Kampfer from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Monday the team has released forward Justin Mercier from a professional tryout agreement (PTO). Haula, 22 (3/23/91), has recorded four points (2-2=4) and a plus-5 rating in 25 games with Minnesota this season. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound native of Pori, Finland, recorded an assist in his NHL debut on Nov. 29 vs. Colorado and tallied his first career NHL goal against Dallas on Jan. 18. He has collected 27 points (14-13=27) in 31 games with Iowa this season. He leads the team in goals and ranks second in power-play goals (five) and scoring. Haula was selected by the Wild in the seventh round (182nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Kampfer, 25 (9/24/88), has collected 19 points (5-14=19) and 35 penalty minutes (PIM) in 49 games with Iowa this season. He has notched 15 points (7-8=15) in 61 career NHL contests with Boston and Minnesota. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound native of Ann Arbor, Mich., was originally selected by Anaheim in the fourth-round (No. 93 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Mercier played in 15 games for the Wild after signing his PTO on Jan. 8. During his time with the Wild, Mercier scored twice and set up three other tallies for five points. The fifth-year pro will return to the Idaho Steelheads, whom he spent the entire 2013-14 season with prior to joining Idaho. The 26-year old had ten goals and 18 points in 32 games as the captain of the Steelheads. The Erie, PA native has played in 235 career AHL games, scoring 41 goals and totaling 81 points for the Wild and the Lake Erie Monsters. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder also played in nine NHL games during the 2009-10 season, scoring his first NHL goal and totaling two points for the Colorado Avalanche. Mercier was drafted by Colorado in the sixth round (#168 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Iowa returns home on Tuesday, Feb. 25 for a 5:35 p.m. faceoff with Rockford. The game is a $2 Tuesday, where fans can purchase any level ticket with a $2 discount. 200 Level seats will be available for $2 to the first 200 fans to purchase upper level seats. Patrons will also be able to purchase $2 sodas, $2 popcorns, and $2 10-ounce domestic drafts (21 and older) – through the first period of play. Also, select merchandise items will be available for only $2. The team then hosts the Rochester Americans at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27.
