WOLVES SNEAK PAST WILD IN OT 4-3Wild Returns Home To Host Milwaukee on Sunday at 5 PM ROSEMONT, IL – The Iowa Wild (33-30-7-2, 75 points) were defeated by the Chicago Wolves (41-19-7-7, 94 points) 4-3 in overtime in front of 11,837 fans on Saturday night at Allstate Arena. The Wolves erased a 3-1 deficit heading into the third period and defenseman Peterri Lindbohm scored 1:01 into overtime for the come-from-behind victory. Forward Andrew Agozzino scored the game-tying goal and added two assists to lead the Wolves. Chicago goalie Ville Husso (12-6-1) garnered the win with 19 saves. Iowa’s Zack Mitchell, Tyler Graovac and Ryan Carter each scored in the first period before the Wild dropped its seventh straight game to Chicago this season. Iowa goalie Alex Stalock (22-16-8) stopped 35 of 39 shots in the OT defeat. Iowa returns home to host Milwaukee at 5 pm on Sunday. BECOME A WILD 365 MEMBER TODAY! Chicago claimed the game’s first goal with Jake Walman’s second tally of the year 8:41 into the game. Center Wade Megan set up the score, as Walman snapped a wrist shot over the shoulder of Alex Stalock. Kenny Agostino added an assist on the goal. Iowa roared back with an answer at 10:31 after a score by Zack Mitchell on the power play. Rookie forward Luke Kunin played the puck to the Chicago net and Mitchell redirected the shot past Ville Husso. Mitchell’s 11th goal of the year made it 1-1. Late in the period, the Wild moved in front 2-1 off Ryan Carter’s first goal of the season at 18:22. Center Pat Cannone ripped a shot from the point. Carter, camped out in the slot, tipped the shot past Husso for the 2-1 score. Defenseman Maxime Foertunus added an assist on the goal. The Wild made it a 3-1 lead off Tyler Graovac’s 10th goal of the season with 15.2 seconds left in the period. Right wing Alex Tuch moved the puck off a backhand pass, through the Wolves defense, springing Graovac for a one-on-one. He beat Husso with a backhand shot to give Iowa a two-goal lead. After a scoreless second period, Chicago crept back into the game with Bryce Gervais’ goal 3:32 into the third period. Defenseman Vince Dunn and winger Andrew Agozzino each had an assist on the goal. Gervais beat Stalock off the rush with a shot from the left-wing circle for his 13th goal of the year and a 3-2 score. The Wolves tied the game 3-3 at 10:14 of the final frame with a power-play goal by Agozzino. Kenny Agostino played the puck off the wall to the Iowa slot. Wade Megan took the pass and settled the puck to his right for Agozzino, who beat Stalock for his 17th goal of the year and a 3-3 score. BECOME A WILD 365 MEMBER TODAY! Just 1:01 into overtime, defenseman Peterri Lindbohm drove the Iowa net and snuck a backhand shot under goalie Alex Stalock. Lindbohm’s eighth goal of the year was set up by Agozzino for the 4-3 final score. Iowa returns home to host the Milwaukee Admirals on Sunday, April 9 at 5 PM. Home improvement and Go Green night are presented by MidAmerican Energy. The first 1,500 fans to arrive at the game receive tote bags sponsored by Star 102.5 and Fast Signs. Following the conclusion of the game, there is a postgame skate for fans. Skates may be rented for $2 with the proceeds benefitting the American Diabetes Association. Subway combo packs are available for purchase at the game. The Wild concludes its 2016-17 home schedule with a pair of games against the Chicago Wolves, starting on Thursday, April 13th for Health and Wellness night, presented by Amerigroup. The first 1,500 fans get an Iowa Wild water bottle, sponsored by WHO Radio and Amerigroup. Fans that bring a Subway receipt can purchase a ticket for $5.00. Iowa plays its final regular season game on Friday, April 14th at 7 PM with the Chicago Wolves. Fans may enjoy a $2.00 Beer Night, presented by 100.3 The Bus. For fans 21 and over, Barefoot Wine will be running a drink special – Barefoot Cran-Peach Spritzer available at the Barefoot / New Amsterdam Bar.
