WILD TAMES WOLVES 3-2Iowa Visits Chicago tomorrow at 7 P.M. DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild (6-9-0-1, 13 points) defeated the Chicago Wolves (5-7-1-1, 12 points) 3-2 in front of 5,867 fans on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Rookie Alex Tuch scored two of Iowa’s three goals in the win over Chicago. Forward Jeff Hoggan also scored in the Iowa win. Wild goalie Alex Stalock (2-5-0) stopped 20 of 22 shots in the win. Defensemen Brad Hunt and Jordan Schmaltz each scored in the Chicago loss. Wolves goalie Jordan Binnington (3-4-1) stopped 31 of 34 shots in defeat. Iowa opened the scoring at 14:24 of the first period when forward Alex Tuch scored his third of the season, putting the Wild up 1-0. Tuch scored on a breakaway after picking off the puck from a Wolves defenseman. Jeff Hoggan’s third goal of the year extended Iowa’s lead to 2-0 at 18:25 of the opening period. Pulkkinen’s cross-ice pass set up Hoggan’s goal. Jordan Schroeder also added an assist on the play. At 10:49 of the second period, Tuch scored his fourth goal of the season and second of the night for Iowa, making it a 3-0 game. Christoph Bertschy sent a cross-ice pass to Tuch, who joined a rush towards the Chicago net. Pat Cannone also helped set up the one-timer. Wolves defenseman Brad Hunt made it a 3-1 game at 15:47 of the middle frame. Hunt scored his fifth goal of the season off a Wild turnover. BECOME A WILD 365 MEMBER TODAY! Defenseman Jordan Schmaltz scored his first goal of the year for Chicago at 7:23 of the third period, making it a 3-2 game. Kenny Agostino’s cross-ice pass from the right-wing circle set up the power-play goal. Brad Hunt also had an assist on the play. The Wild embarks on a seven-game road trip from November 19 to December 3. The team plays games in Chicago, Manitoba, Charlotte and Grand Rapids. The Wild returns back to Des Moines to welcome the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The game is Kids Eat Free Tuesday, sponsored by 96.5 Country and Goodhue Nolte Insurance.
