Do you have what it takes to be the Hamilton Bulldogs next anthem singer?

 

The Hamilton Bulldogs are looking for singers to perform the Canadian National Anthem (and

American Anthem, when applicable) at Copps Coliseum throughout the 2013-14 season. We’re looking

forward to seeing the talent that Hamilton and the surrounding area has to offer.

Think you have what it takes? Apply online! Individuals and groups of 4 or less will be considered. Ages 8

and up only.

 

Application Process:

     1. Make an audition video of yourself singing ‘O Canada’ a cappella (no instrumental help)

     2. Upload the video to your personal YouTube page (please include “Hamilton Bulldogs Anthem

         Singer Search” in your video title)

     3. Fill out the online form below, including the link to your video, and submit it by August 30

         2013 (some videos may be featured on our social media pages)

    

Live Audition Process:

We’ll check out all of the online submissions and our favourite singers will be invited via e-mail to attend

a live audition at Copps Coliseum on September 14th.

 

The live audition process will require singers to perform both the Canadian and American national

anthems in front of a panel of judges.

 

Tips:

     • Please keep each anthem to about 90 seconds in length 

     • We are looking for a traditional and straight-forward rendition of the anthem(s)

     • Be conscious of the pronunciation of each word 

     

Requirements:

     • Applicants must be available to sing at a handful of predetermined dates for the 2013-14 season

     • Applicants must be 8 years of age or older at the time of entry

     • A strong voice and the confidence to sing in front of a live audience is a must

     • Must know both the Canadian and American national anthems

     • Must fill out the online submission form in its entirety

 

Anthem Singer Search FAQ

 
     • How many singers will be chosen?
 
       The Hamilton Bulldogs are looking to select 3 or 4 performers for the upcoming season
 
     • How many games will the winners perform at?
 
       Those selected will likely be asked to perform at 5 to 10 home games throughout the season. 
 
     • Can I use an instrument or music during my audition?
 
       No, all singers will be required to audition a capella.
 
     • How will I find out if I’ve been chosen?

       Following the online submissions, all singers will be contacted via e-mail to notify them if they

       have been selected to attend the live audition, which will be held on September 14th. Following the live audition, all singers will be contacted again via phone or e-mail to notify

       them if they have been chosen as a Bulldogs anthem singer.
 
     • Will the chosen singers be compensated?
 
       Singers will receive 4 complimentary tickets for each game that they sing at.
 
     • Is the live audition open to the public?
 
       No. Each invited singer may bring up to 3 guests to watch their audition. 
 
     • I can’t make the audition date – can I still try out?
 
       This will be the only audition date made available but those who cannot attend are welcome to 
 
       send a CD or DVD of them performing an a capella version of both the Canadian and American 
 
       anthems to:

       If we like your anthem, we may contact you to perform at one of our games or come to Copps 
 
       Coliseum for a live audition! Please include your contact information and a resume with singing 
 
       experience if applicable. 
 
     • Can groups perform?
 
       Groups of up to 4 will be considered. Larger groups interested in performing the anthem are 
 
       encouraged to take part in our group tickets initiative. More information here. 
 
     • I’ve sung the anthem for the Bulldogs before. Can I still try out?
 
       Absolutely! We’ve had some great talent here in the past and would love to hear from you 
 
       again.
 
     • Which version of the Canadian anthem should I sing? (French, English, Bilingual)

       The Bilingual version will allow us to get the best idea of your capabilities, but you are welcome to sing whichever version you please
