Name: Tom Saunders Orlando City: What does Orlando City mean to you? TS: “It’s amazing. I grew up learning how to play soccer in Germany in the late 80s early 90s. When I came to the states, there wasn’t really anything here like that, and to have that now in my backyard is amazing. It’s everything I remember from back in the day, it’s fantastic. Now I have a kid, and it’s the perfect way to introduce her to the sport as well.” OC: What is one of your favorite memories attending an OCSC game? TS: “Last season, during one of the final matches, my five-year old daughter started a Jamie Watson chant in the crowd.” OC: Looking ahead to 2015, what are you looking forward to the most? TS: “Seeing the new signees and seeing what coach and the front office have planned. Also, just seeing everything come together when they take the field and making an impact in the first season in MLS.” OC: How did it feel when you were selected for the Ad Campaign? TS: “It was awesome. It was a big honor. It was pretty cool to be able to help the team out anyway I can to promote the team, the brand, and to try and get as many people as possible to come join in.”
Name: Mike and Natalia Foote Profession: Mike- Diagnostic Sales Consultant Natalia- Former UCF professor but now a stay at home mom Years being a fan: Fan since 2011 and season ticket holder for the last three years Orlando City: What does Orlando City mean to you? MF: “It’s a good event and a great atmosphere to take my kids out to. My wife and our two sons go out to every game. My two year old was only two weeks old when we were at Rollins College for the friendly against AS Roma and he’s never known anything else besides Orlando City. My oldest son was two when we went to our first game in 2011. It’s (OC games) just a fun thing to do with our kids for a night out. It’s a family thing.” NF: “For me, Orlando City provides a way for not only my family to get together, but also for us to get together with the City of Orlando and have a pride for Orlando.” OC: What is one of your favorite memories attending an OCSC game? MF: “Mine would be in 2012 when my wife won the playoff slogan contest to be a player for a day, and since it was a men’s locker room and stuff she let me have it. Marketing gave me the whole deal with the jersey shorts and socks, and I got to go out on the field and warm up with the players. I was in the locker room before the match and got to hear Coach Heath’s strategy and pregame talk. They also let me walk out with the team and sit on the bench. Obviously the championship game year with over 20,000 fans was amazing, but that for me was really cool to be able to see it from the inside.” NF: “I really enjoyed watching Dom Dwyer score and watching his flips.” OC: Looking ahead to 2015, what are you looking forward to the most? MF: “Definitely to see some of those big names that I’m watching right now in Brazil come through and hopefully the big names that will be on our team like Kaka. I’m also excited to have my own seat number so I don’t have to run in and save my seat and hour and a half before the game. So in general the new facility.” NF: “I’m really looking forward to the rest of Orlando getting to see how much fun we have at all of the Orlando City games.” OC: How did it feel when you were selected for the Ad Campaign? MF: “It was an honor. It was really cool to be on the billboard with my wife and my kids got to take pictures on the field.” NF: “It was so much fun, it was exciting. It felt good to be apart of.” |
