City takes travels to Tampa for second leg of I-4 Derby, presented by United World Soccer on Sunday

Orlando, Fla. – Orlando City SC will aim for its sixth consecutive victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the North American Soccer League (NASL) on Sunday, July 6, when both sides meet in the second leg of this year’s I-4 Derby, presented by United World Soccer. The Lions currently hold a 3-0 lead on aggregate, after securing a comfortable win in the first leg at ESPN Wide World of Sports on April 30.

Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. EST.

Coming off a 3-0 win against LA Galaxy II, Orlando City has managed to maintain its impressive run so far in 2014. Sitting 11 points clear in first place in USL PRO, Orlando has yet to lose a match in 16 games played (13-0-3) this season. City has the upper-hand in its upcoming fixture against the Rowdies, as the most recent match between both sides featured a 4-1 thrashing by the Lions over Tampa in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Leading the way for OCSC is the Club’s first-ever Major League Soccer (MLS) signing, Kevin Molino, who also leads USL PRO in goals scored (11), assists (6) and points (28). However, the entire Orlando City front-line has also been in cracking form as of late, with Corey Hertzog, Brian Span and Adama Mbengue causing difficulties for the opposition in recent matches. Hertzog has ended his drought spell, scoring four times in the previous five games, while Span and Mbengue have provided key goals and assists as well.

After finishing the NASL Spring Season in seventh place, the Rowdies will play its first match in a month on July 4 in a friendly against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, before facing the Lions on Sunday evening. During the spring season, Georgi Hristov led the team in goals (2) and assists (2).
