Quote Sheet Check out a few of the players' reactions from last Saturday's win over Charleston
Photo: Allison Petro Orlando City secured its second win in a row on Saturday night against the Charleston Battery, after starting off the season with back-to-back draws. Coming into the season, the Lions were aware of the looming target on their backs, due to winning the title in 2013 and the MLS announcement in November, but it seems that Orlando is slowly figuring out a way to deal with opposing teams giving a 110 percent each night. The gaffer, Adrian Heath, has made public comments on several occassions that only a certain standard of football will be tolerated under his reign and that mentality has seemingly disseminated throughout the squad. Upon the team returning back to the training ground this week, OrlandoCitySC.com caught up with a few of the players to get their reactions from the tight 1-0 win over the Battery. Check it out below: Miguel Gallardo- "Getting a win from the weekend is always a positive. For me as a goalkeeper, it's a good feeling knowing that I have strong guys in front of me. I love this team and I love the way that we play. I just have to make sure that I'm tuned in so when there is a shot on target, I'm prepared to make that vital save." Brad Rusin- "The most important takeaway was that we got three points and maintained a clean sheet. We're always going to be dangerous going forward, but we also have to stay focused on maintaining our defensive shape." Austin da Luz- "I think we’re just focused on continuing to build on our performances from each game. Obviously its nice when results go your way, but the boss has put a lot of emphasis on progressing and getting better each week. It felt good to get back-to-back wins but we have to remain focused heading into this two-game road trip." The Lions will travel next week to take on FC Dallas and OKC Energy FC before returning home to take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies at home on April 30. |
