U23s 2013 U23s Season Tickets (T-Pass) On Sale Sunday at Pro Home Opener
The official 2013 Orlando City U23s season ticket will be in the form of a limited edition Orlando City t-shirt, called the T-PASS. The exclusive 2013 T-PASS grants you access into all seven home games at Seminole Soccer Complex. This year’s T-PASS is an affordable $25 for Orlando City SC season ticket holders and $30 for non-season ticket holders, and will be on sale at the Orlando City SC home opener against the Rochester Rhinos on Sunday, April 14, at Fifth Third Bank Field at the Florida Citrus Bowl. The U23s were implemented into the Orlando City structure in 2012 and had a successful inaugural campaign. The Lions finished second in the Southeast Conference (8-3-5) and defeated the Austin Aztex, 4-2, en route to a semi-final appearance. The U23s would end up falling short, 2-1, to the Carolina Dynamo but 2012 marked their first appearance in the Final Four since the 2004 season, finishing the season as Southern Conference Champions. In addition to their successful first season in Orlando City colors, the Lions also saw the promotion of two U23 players into the first team. Midfielders Adama Mbengue and Jonathan Mendoza were the first two to receive the nod from Head Coach Adrian Heath and both have settled in quite well so far. “Johnny and Adama spent time with the U23s last year and I think it certainly helped them in the pro team set up,” said Heath. “We hope now that this is the next progression, and we’re in a position where everyone in the club is playing the same system. We hope to see more promotions because players will be more comfortable with the roles that are expected.” Newly appointed U23s Head Coach and former Arsenal player Paul Shaw aims to not only build upon the Lions’ success from a year ago, but to also continue to develop players for a potential first team call up. I'm extremely pleased and excited to be given the opportunity to lead the U23 PDL team,” said Shaw. “My aim is to continue to implement the club’s philosophy and style of play, while also developing players for the next level.” |
