Miracle Miles 5kJoin us for the 15th annual Miracle Miles 5k/15k next Saturday!
The City of Orlando will play host to the 14th annual Miracle Miles 5k/15k on Saturday, September 22. Miracle Miles is a national event that is held all over the United States for the benefit of premature infants and their families’. Each year, more than 1,200 newborns are admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Alexander Center at Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando, Fla. Since the facilities’ opening in 1975, the NICU unit at Winnie Palmer Hospital has provided family and infant friendly facilities that are second to none, providing care to more than 26,000 infants. This year, you will be able to join our Orlando City team, in conjunction with Orlando Health, and help us raise our goal of $2000.00. Entry cost for this event is $22 with proceeds going toward the Alexander Center’s NICU. Orlando City’s Director of Community Relations Kay Rawlins paid a visit to the Neonatal Unit last week and commented on the positive attitude the facility has. “Going and seeing the Neonatal Unit has definitely given me more incentive to help these children,” Rawlins said. “There is this great hopeful attitude around the facility. It just gives a real feeling of hope to the other families.” If you’d like to sign up for the Orlando City team, you can do so by clicking here. Registration fees are smaller if you sign up early, so be sure to do so for a great cause. |
