By The Numbers: No. 1 and 2 square off at Citrus BowlOrlando City is ready to get back on the pitch
After a week of training and a big shake up among the roster, Orlando City is ready to get back on the pitch and further their lead in the USL PRO table with an important match against second-place Rochester on Saturday. 11- Yesterday, Orlando City loaned Forward Max Griffin to the Los Angeles Blues in return, for LA Blues Forward George Davis IV. Davis scores seven goals in his rookie campaign last season with the Dayton Dutch Lions. 2- Two Orlando City players were named to this weeks USL PRO Team of the Week, including Goalkeeper Miguel Gallardo for having two shutouts against the Blues last weekend along with Forward Dennis Chin for having two goals in LA during Sundays 4-0 victory. Orlando also had two honorable mentions, with Kieron Bernard and Matt Luzunaris making the squad as well. 4-0-2- Saturdays match is set for kickoff at 7:30 p.m., which has been a favorable start time for the Lions in 2012. Orlando has a record of 4-0-2 with games that kickoff at 7:30, with the last kick at that time resulting in a 3-0 win over Harrisburg City Islanders. 8- Orlando gave themselves an eight-point cushion over second place Rochester with two wins over the LA Blues last weekend. The Lions hold a record of 12-1-4 and 40 points while Rochester is currently in second place with a record of 9-4-5 and 32 points. 1- Last night, the Rhinos played to a 0-0 draw against the Wilmington Hammerheads, earning one point for their efforts. Rochester is 3-1-1 in their last five matches, winning two in a row by a combined score of 6-1 before their draw last night. 0- Rochester and Orlando havent met in the 2012 season. After the match on Saturday, the two clubs will meet again at Sahlens Stadium in Rochester, New York, on August 2, the second to last match of the season for the Lions. |
