By: Cole Hernandez Cane Cutters are No. 1 in TCL through eight games With a 7-4 victory last night over the Brazos Valley Bombers, the 2023 Cane Cutters improved to a 6-2 record and earned sole possession of first place in the Texas Collegiate League. BPCC’s right handed pitcher Brandon Carter has been credited with two of our six wins with eight strikeouts. Garrett Brooks, a sophomore at UTSA, leads the team in hitting with a .375 batting average. Grant Comeaux, a freshman at Louisiana Tech, leads the team in home runs with two and RBI’s with seven. The Cane Cutters will be back in action at Fabacher Field this Sunday when they take on the Victoria Generals at 7 p.m. CT.
