CHILI'S TEAMS UP WITH THE GREEN BAY PACKERS FOR FAMILY NIGHT PROMOTION
The Green Bay Packers and Chili's provide jersey promotion during Packers' Family Night.

Dear Faithful Readers,
 
In my opinion, one of the best promotions a team can do is a Family Night. It attracts young kids to games or events, who of course have to bring a parent and maybe some friends, which means more people coming through the gate. Getting kids started early also allows teams to foster fans for years to come.
 
I remember going to some San Diego Chargers’ practices growing up and being blown away by how big and fast everyone was. It was always the highlight of my summer.
 
The Green Bay Packers formed a unique partnership with Chili’s, where fan’s had the chance to win a jersey that was used during the practice.  The results of the partnership are so promising that both organizations are looking forward to working together on more Family Nights.

Chili's: Jerseys Off Our Backs
Green Bay Packers

 

OBJECTIVES

 
The Green Bay Packers wanted to continue the Family Night promotion they have done in the past. At Family Night, the Packers were looking for different activities that would appeal to a wide-range of fans. Being presented the opportunity to receive a jersey that one of the players had just worn for the scrimmage is a thrilling and unique opportunity for fans. The Packers aimed to further engage fans and recognize highly involved fans all while providing an unforgettable experience.
 
 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Family Night featured a full practice, including 11-on-11 sessions in front of a packed stadium. Nearly 75,000 tickets were sold.  The event remained family-focused and displayed a game-like atmosphere with game day music and a fireworks show to conclude the night. Parking for the event benefitted the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids foster care adoption program.
 
Being a part of Family Night and the Chili’s “Jerseys Off Our Backs” in-stadium promotion, all attendees were entered in a random drawing to win one of several Packers jerseys.
 
The Packers randomly selected approximately 20 seat locations to receive a jersey. Once the scrimmage ended, they collected the player’s jersey before leaving the field. Members of the Packers’ media partner for the event handed the jersey out to the winners. During the event, they announced the seat number of the winner and the jersey was immediately brought to that person. The individual needed to show their ticket to claim the jersey.

PARTNERSHIP

 
The Green Bay Packers enjoyed partnering with Chili’s at Family Night and hopes to continue the partnership in the future. Chili’s presented the “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion.
 

RESULTS

 
The Packers’ Family Night promotion was outstanding in increasing fan engagement. This night has been an excellent promotion to build camaraderie amongst the fans. Family Night would typically sell out because of events such as the “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion.
 

LOOKING AHEAD

 
The “Jerseys Off Our Backs” promotion has been a big hit with the Green Bay fans. Packers’ fans responded well to the promotion and it was a great way to give back to them. The Packers and Chili’s enjoyed this partnership and anticipate this promotion to be a part of Family Nights in the future.
