SATURDAY, JANUARY 29 |

The 5th annual Case Cup Competition kicked off on Saturday with six out of nine schools returning from the 2010 competition,
along with the addition of three expansion schools: Canisius College, University of Louisville, and University of South Carolina. The returning schools
were: Ohio University, Texas A&M University, University of Central Florida, University of Oregon, University of Memphis, and defending champion George Washington
University. |

SUNDAY, JANUARY 30 |
This year we went offsite for the Stand Alone Meetings, as the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory was kind enough to host our MLB, MiLB, NFL, NHL, College and
Motorsports Stand Alone Day Meetings.
Additionally, the Case Cup Competition finalists presented their cases to the following panel of judges: Andy Dolich, Dolich & Associates; Jeanie Kahnke,
Muhammad Ali Center; Todd Koesters, Louisville Sports Commission; Abe Madkour, Sports Business Journal / Sports Business Daily;
Karl Schmitt, Louisville Sports Commission; Jonathan Sprinkles, Sprinklisms Inc.; Mark Tudi, SPORTSEARCH; and Brian Winslow,
Muhammad Ali Center.
After the Case Cup finalists presented, all nine teams had a chance to unwind and network amongst themselves after two days of continuous preparation and execution
of the case.
The 2011 Trade Show Cocktail Reception was also held on Sunday evening. Exhibitors took a break from setting up their booths and gathered in the trade show hall
for introductions with NSF President, Ron Seaver and the NSF Steering Committee. |
MONDAY, JANUARY 31 |
The 2011 National Sports Forum officially started with the Newcomers Welcome Breakfast led by NSF Steering Committee Member, David Martin. Following breakfast were
the traditional Opening Ceremonies.

Our first of two Monday Super Panels began shortly after. Blending of Sports & Entertainment - was moderated by Glenn Chin (MOST PROLIFIC).
The Panel's top notch "hitters" included: Brandon Barber (Lionside, Inc.); Don Transeth (YOUNGBLOOD); Tim Leedom (PANDORA); and Tricia
Amburgey (Churchill Downs Inc.).

After a quick morning break, the first batch of Breakout Sessions began. With a total of 14 breakout sessions to choose from on Monday, all of our session leaders had
much to discuss with many interested Forum attendees.
Monday afternoon saw our second Super Panel, And Now A Word From Our Sponsors... – Presented by Daktronics. This panel was moderated by Bill
Sutton (University of Central Florida) and included the following panelists: Todd Fischer (State Farm Insurance); Richard Gutierrez(Anheuser-Busch);
Todd Allard (Advance Auto Parts); Greg Busch (GMR Marketing); and Tim McGee (IMG, Inc.).

Following the Daktronics' Panel, we wrapped up the evening with the NSF Opening Night in the Trade Show. The hall was filled with vendors, attendees, food,
beverages, music, and tons of great networking opportunities.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1 |
Day two opened with Opening Remarks and the announcement of the 2011 NSF Case Cup winner, The University of Louisville.

After the screening of the 2011 NSF ADchievement Awards TV Finalists (Greenville Drive, Oakland Athletics and San Jose Earthquakes), we broke into our third Super Panel,
Leadership in the New Economy. The panel was moderated by Ron Shapiro (Shapiro Negotiations Institute) and our panel of "leaders" included:
Jim Host (Louisville Arena Authority); Mark Shapiro (Cleveland Indians); and Phillip J. Castellini (Cincinnati Reds).

After a brief coffee break, we broke into our third round of breakout sessions, which provided forum attendees with another 7 sessions to choose from.
Before the fourth round of another half dozen breakout sessions, the Alumni Association Members Only Luncheon was held featuring Keynote Speaker, Paul Hornung,
NFL Hall of Famer.

Next were two Super Breakout Sessions. Super Breakout Session A included the presentations of the 2011 SAMMY Award finalists, which was followed by Super Breakout
Session B, Diversity as a Sports Business Imperative. Moderated by Dr. Richard Lapchick (University of Central Florida), in this session we heard from
panelists Wendy Lewis (MLB); Robert Gulliver (NFL); Vic Gregovits (Cleveland Indians); Dr. Bernard W. Franklin (NCAA); Kerry D. Chandler
(NBA); and Marcus Jadotte (NASCAR).

Following the final Breakout Session was the 2011 Budweiser Gala, hosted by Churchill Downs. NSF attendees and exhibitors took a short bus ride over to the track and
facility where they were greeted by a fanfare of jockeys, facility hosts, and the one and only bugler of Churchill Downs.
After a tour of the facility, which included viewing the Bleachers, the Grandstands, the Twin Spires, and a few of the Luxury Suites located on Millionaires Row, everyone
met next in the Fourth Level of Millionaires Row for drinks and dinner, where we recognized our newest NSF 5 year alums, NSF Decade Club inductees, and a special 15 year
award presented to Dr. Jim Kadlecek (University of Mount Union).

Following the awards, we had a chance to listen to our Budweiser Gala Keynote Speaker, Bob Evans, President & CEO, Churchill Downs Incorporated. We thank the

The third day of The Forum began with the announcement of the 2011 NSF ADchievement Award winners. The NSF ADchievement Award recognizes the best sports-themed
advertising in eight categories. The categories and winners are:
Television - San Jose Earthquakes
Radio - Greenville Drive
Print - Brewers Community Foundation
In Stadium / In Arena - Cleveland Indians
Out-of-Home - Greenville Drive
Sales Collateral - Orlando Magic
Alternative Media - Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment
Internet / Web-based - New Orleans Hornets
Additionally, for having the highest quality of advertising across all categories, Greenville Drive was presented with the "NSF ADchievement Overall Award
of Excellence."

For the 2011 NSF ADchievement Awards, more than 500 ads from the sports industry were submitted for consideration. Submissions came from
teams representing MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, NCAA, and minor leagues, as well as NASCAR, television networks, retail stores, and private corporations.
Following the ADchievement Awards was the fourth and final Super Panel, What Keeps You Up At Night?. This panel was moderated by Abe Madkour (Sports Business
Journal & Sports Business Daily) and the panelists who joined him were: Dan Migala (San Diego Padres); Michael P. Williams (New Jersey Devils); Greg
Bibb (Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics); and Alex Martins (Orlando Magic).
Wednesday morning's "What Keeps You Up At Night" Super Panel
Everyone then caught one final glimpse of the NSF Trade Show for "Taking 10" in the Trade Show and continued on to the KFC Yum! Center for the final 2011 NSF
event, "Behind the Scenes Tour & Luncheon" at the KFC Yum! Center. After the tour, Forum attendees were welcomed to the home of the
University of Louisville Men's and Women's Basketball teams, by our Keynote Speaker, the Sr. Vice President & Chief Public Affairs Officer of Yum! Brands, Inc.,
Jonathan Blum.
