Program Title: mycompanyoffer.com

Objective: Liquidate unsold ticket inventory to business partners and employee base.

Program Description: Medical and dental aren’t the only benefits some employees in Detroit are receiving from their company…they're also getting substantially reduced ticket prices! Palace Sports & Entertainment (PSE), the parent company of the Detroit Pistons, Shock and Fury, has created a software program that effectively liquidates unsold ticket inventory by offering discounted tickets to employees of local business partners via email. The program is called “mycompanyoffer.com”, and here is how it works…

Participating businesses in the Detroit area will load e-mail addresses of their own employees into the software. The company then specifies which day of the week they would like their employees to receive special offers and how many “hot offers” they would like to receive a month.

PSE will then send special offers to the company’s employees, which includes a list of discounted ticket offers to upcoming events that have unsold inventory…these events have included Pistons, Shock and Fury games as well as concerts and Broadway plays. The emails can be sent to the employees’ computer at work or their PC at home. The discounts typically range from 50-60% off the face value of the ticket. The email is sent with the participating company’s logo on the top, so it appears as if the company is offering the discount instead of Palace Sports & Entertainment. The employees have the option of calling in and ordering their tickets or filling out a secure form and ordering their tickets.

Results: The “mycompanyofer.com program has proven to be a huge success! PSE has sold over 117,000 tickets through the program. The Pistons by themselves have sold 17,000 tickets - tickets that most likely would have gone unsold without this program. As word continues to spread about the benefits of using “mycompanyoffer.com”, the size of PSE client base has increased to over 500 companies using this program. That is a 250% increase from last year! Companies of note that utilize the program include General Motors, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Kmart – all use “mycompanyoffer.com” to provide incentives for their employees.

Looking Ahead: Based on the outstanding results seen this year, PSE has already made plans to continue this program next year. PSE has licensed the “mycompanyoffer.com” program to the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers for the upcoming NBA season, with a dozen more teams also looking into the service. Colleges are starting to get involved, as Arizona State University recently became the first collegiate program to sign up!
