Program Title: The Avengers Season Ticket Renewal Program

Objective: To encourage season ticket holders to renew their seats earlier and in full.

Program Description: The Los Angeles Avengers got a jumpstart on their season ticket renewals this past season by motivating their fans with a great incentive…

The Avengers offered free tickets and bus transportation to the 2005 ArenaBowl XIX in Las Vegas for any season ticket holder that renewed their seats by June 1, 2005. This program kicked off at the Avengers’ third home game of the 2005 season, and any season ticket holder that paid for their 2006 seats in full by the deadline was be eligible for the ArenaBowl XIX trip.  The trip included bus transportation to and from STAPLES Center on June 12, 2005 to Las Vegas and tickets for the ArenaBowl, featuring the Georgia Force vs. Colorado Crush.

Media: The Avengers promoted the season ticket renewal program with their radio partners, XTRA Sports 570 AM and ESPN Deportes 1330 AM. The program was also promoted in-arena with P.A. announcements, DiamondVision images, mascot routines, and handouts.  The team used direct mail pieces, e-mails, online promotions, and phone calls to season ticket holders too.  They even created their own mascots for this promotion—three Elvis impersonators holding signs that promoted the renewal program were used in all creative pieces (shown below).

Results: The Avengers actively pursued renewals and have already achieved their highest renewal rate to date (69 %) through this promotion.  What’s more, over 600 Avenger fans participated in the ArenaBowl trip on June 12th.  Additionally, the Avengers reported that the program put season ticket sales an impressive five months ahead of schedule.

Looking Ahead: The Avengers say that they will definitely start renewals during the season again in 2006. The Avengers may add some new aspects to the program next year, but they will decide as the season gets closer. ArenaBowl XX will be held in Vegas as well, so it looks like the Elvis mascots will be around for another season. Viva Las Vegas!
