Program Title:
Florida Marlins Holiday Mall Tour

Objective: The Marlins wanted to connect with their fans in the high-traffic shopping areas during the holiday season. The Holiday Mall Tour program was also created to introduce fans to and promote the new Marlins Holiday Pack, which features 25 games in 2007 for $99
Program Description: From November 18 through December 16, the Florida Marlins will be hosting a Holiday Mall tour, visiting approximately 15 of the most popular shopping centers in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. The tour stops will feature the Marlins street team giving fans the opportunity to win Marlins prizes and team memorabilia. The Marlins Mermaid cheerleaders will also be onsite entertaining the crowds, signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. Select stop

Media: An initial press release was issued with a complete list of the stops, addresses and times of the tour.

The list of stops is also posted on the team's official website. The local media covered a few of the stops and there was live radio remotes when the tour stopped at the Marlins Miami store on December 9th.PublixLogo.jpg

Partner:Publix is the official sponsor of the Marlins Holiday Pack, which is the feature of the Marlins Holiday Mall Tour. Publix is a supermarket chain based in Lakeland, Florida.

Results: The Marlins Holiday Tour has been very popular among Florida residents. There was no word on how many Holiday Pack season tickets were sold as a result of the events, but the Marlins have been very pleased with the turnout and consider the Holiday Mall Tour a success.

Looking Ahead: The Marlins first conducted a Holiday Mall Tour after they won the 2003 World Series for the primary reason of giving fans the opportunity to see the World Series Trophy up close and take pictures with it. The tour was very popular among fans so the Marlins decided to make the mall tour an annual event. The Marlins have developed great relationships with the local shopping malls and plan to continue the tours for years to come.
