Bravehearts Bats Come To Life

The Worcester Bravehearts bounced back in a 4-2 win over the Nashua Silver Knights on Memorial Day.

Starting for Worcester, Carson Hauben (Rollins) was lights out for the ‘Hearts striking out five and walking two over three innings. Scott Nosky (Framingham State) followed up Hauben’s performance with a stellar one of his own, striking out five and allowing only two hits and two walks over four innings. Jonathan Santucci (Duke) picked up the save after striking out the side in the ninth.

The Bravehearts took advantage of the free bases given by Nashua, drawing a total of eleven walks, eight of which were drawn before the ‘Hearts’ first hit in the fourth.

In the first inning, Santucci scored after advancing on a fielder’s choice to short by Rico Riley (Jackson State). Worcester struck again in the second when Kenny Mallory Jr. (Vanderbilt) walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch by Nashua. More damage was done in the fourth inning as Worcester extended their lead to 4-0 on a two-run Santucci single.

Nashua tallied their only runs in the eighth inning on errors by Michael Perales (Amherst) and Gavin Noriega (Marist).

The Bravehearts will be on the road this week, traveling to Nashua on Wednesday to take on the Silver Knights at 6:00 pm.
