Worcester, MA— Dustin Harris hit a bases-clearing double, Kirk Sidwell added three hits and Joe Pesce knocked in three runs to give Worcester an 8-6 win in game one of the second-round series of the FCBL playoffs.
Worcester struck first in the bottom of the second thanks to a Kirk Sidwell solo home run. Bristol took the lead in the top of the third. With the bases loaded, Jimmy Sullivan hit a 2-run RBI single to give the Blues a 2-1 advantage.
The Bravehearts would take the lead for good in the home half of the third. Idelson Taveras and Mariano Ricciardi hit back-to-back singles to lead off the inning. Eddie Haus then walked to load the bases. Dustin Harris then hit a bases-clearing double to give Worcester a 4-2 lead.
Worcester extended its lead in the fifth inning. Mariano Ricciardi lead off the inning with a walk and advanced to third on a Dustin Harris single. After Patrick Hannon came in to pitch, Ricciardi scored on a wild pitch to give Worcester a 5-2 advantage. The Bravehearts added another run in the sixth.
