Worcester Extends Win Streak To Five Games
Makenzie Stills’ dominant pitching performance helps Bravehearts get past Blues 
Worcester, MA- After a dominant victory over the Nashua Silver Knights on the Fourth of July, Worcester was able to escape with a 3-2 victory over Bristol on Thursday night. With the win, the Bravehearts improve to 16-13 on the season, including five straight victories.
The highlight of Worcester’s win was right-handed pitcher Makenzie Stills, who went seven strong innings giving up only one run in the second inning to go along with five strikeouts, six hits and one walk to pick up the win. After allowing the run in the second, Stills held Bristol scoreless for the remaining five innings he was on the hill.
Worcester got their scoring going in the third inning after Joe Pesce doubled and was brought in on an Edward Haus ground-out. They added another run in the fourth started with a Kirk Sidwell single, who advanced to third on two wild pitches. Sidwell was brought home on a sacrifice fly by Derek Adamson.
The ‘Hearts added one more in the fifth when a Mack Cheli double down the right field line brought in Michael Dellicarri for the game-winning run.
Bristol added another run in the eighth when Dylan Reynolds ripped an RBI double to score Jeremy Sagun. Despite having runners on first and second with one out in the ninth, Worcester pitcher Kendal Pomeroy was able to escape with a six-out save. 
Richard Brererton started for Bristol and got credited with the loss. The righty went four innings giving up two runs on three hits and two walks.
Worcester will face Bristol once again tomorrow, this time at Muzzy field in Bristol. First pitch will be at 7:05 pm as the Bravehearts look to extend their win streak to six straight games.
