It was a long night for the Alameda Anchors, who weathered a strong offensive night for the Lincoln Potters in a 22-4 final. On a warm Thursday night, several key players for the Potters shined, most notably the Raising Canes Player of the game JT Waldon, who hit two home runs in as many at bats with six RBI. The trouble did not end there for the Anchors, for they saw 16 runs come from players other than Waldon. Jake Tandy smashed a grand slam shortly to add on to his 7 RBI night, and Jacob Doyle would also hit a solo shot to left

Hitting was not the only thing that shined for the Potters, as they did not allow an earned run until the ninth inning. The pitching had a strong start from Jackson Halverson who went 5.0 innings pitched with only a single hit allowed. Halverson was coming off another strong performance from last Friday night, when he earned the honors of player of the game, and followed that performance by making himself a convincing candidate once again. Halverson showed off his electric arm by hitting 90 MPH multiple times in this appearance with off-speed that kept hitters off-balance and looking foolish. Following Halverson in relief would be the combination of Andrew Balentine, Jack Nilsson, and Nolan Thebiay, who would throw the final four innings to shut down the Anchors.

The Potters are back at it Friday night at McBean, as the Menlo Legacy return to town for another contest. They were defeated 14-8 by Lincoln earlier this week, and they will look to do the same and keep their undefeated week going. First pitch is once again slated for 6:35pm.
