REVS NOTCH COMEBACK WIN

(August 17, 2019 – York, Pa.):  The York Revolution erased a four-run deficit, coming from behind for a big 6-5 victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers to kick off a seven-game homestand on Friday night at PeoplesBank Park.  The Revs improve to 21-13 in the second half, snapping a three-game slide to remain in a tie for first place and will look to make it back-to-back wins as the two teams meet again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

York starter Duke von Schamann ran into slight trouble in the top of the first inning. Joe Terdoslavich and Andrew Aplin lined one-out singles to set the table. After Destin Hood grounded into a fielder’s choice putting runners on the corners, K.C. Hobson ripped a two-out RBI double down the right field line to give Lancaster a 1-0 lead.

Following a scoreless first inning from Barnstormers starter Nate Reed, York’s rivals from across the river pushed across two more runs in the top of the second. Anderson De La Rosa led off the inning with a solo home run to left, pushing the lead to 2-0. Terdoslavich added a sacrifice fly to run it to 3-0 after two.

The Revs got on the board in the bottom of the third. James Skelton singled and stole second to start the threat. Justin Trapp followed with an infield single to put runners on the corners with no one out. After Trapp stole second, Welington Dotel drove a sacrifice fly to deep right to cut the lead to 3-1.

Lancaster answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth on a Terdoslavich sac fly and a throwing error to drive the lead to 5-1.

Momentum would swing in a big way starting in the top of the fifth. After von Schamann twirled a perfect frame, the Revs ripped off three runs in the bottom half. Dotel and Telvin Nash both slapped one-out singles to get things started. After Carlos Franco flied out, Isaias Tejeda doubled down the left field line to score Dotel and cut the lead to 5-2. Melky Mesa followed with a single to right to plate Nash and Tejeda and slice the deficit to 5-4.

von Schamann retired the first two batters in the top of the sixth and Rob Carson entered to work a one-pitch out to retire the side.

The York offense rewarded the stout pitching by taking the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth. Trapp lined a one-out double to left and scored on a Dotel single through the left side to tie the game at 5-5. After Nash walked, Tejeda slapped a clutch two-out RBI single up the middle to give York the 6-5 lead.

Carson (3-0) returned to the mound in the seventh and worked a perfect inning, totaling four outs on the night on just six pitches. Cesar Cabral followed with a 1-2-3 top of the eighth inning while picking up a strikeout.

With the one-run lead, Jameson McGrane was called upon to slam the door. The All-Star closer struck out the side in order en route to his 15th save of the year.

Notes: The Revs improve to 8-3 on the season against the Barnstormers.  York’s bullpen was perfect in 3.1 innings and combined with von Schamann to retire 17 of the final 18 Barnstormers in the game.  The comeback win is the 22nd of the season for the Revs.  McGrane moves into the top 10 on the Revs’ all-time saves list with 15, a mark that ranks as the seventh-highest in a single season in club history.  Cabral’s scoreless outing was his eighth in-a-row.  York righty Ricky Schafer (2-1, 3.77) squares off with Lancaster lefty Jared Lakind (5-5, 5.49) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.  It is Health Fair Night presented by OSS Health featuring a Shaker Bottle Giveaway presented by OSS Health.  The night also features Post-Game Fireworks presented by Auction Houses of Dover and Mt Royal.  Tickets are on sale at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS, and in-person at the Revs Ticket Office.
