The series opener between the Gary SouthShore RailCats (14-14) and Lincoln Saltdogs (17-9) was suspended on Friday with neither team scoring after the top of the fifth due to rain. Friday’s scoreless game will resume on Saturday at 6 p.m. and a seven-inning contest will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Friday’s suspended game.
John Holland has two of the RailCats four hits through the first 4 1/2 innings and Charle Rosario didn’t allow a single baserunner to reach third base in his four innings pitched. Rosario tallied three strikeouts and allowed just three hits and a walk.
Neither team has announced who will start on the mound in Friday’s suspended game. Southpaw Alex Gunn (1-3, 4.15) is expected to square up against Lincoln right-hander Derek Gordon (1-1, 3.51) in Saturday’s seven-inning contest.
