Sioux Falls, S.D. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of catcher Kevin Reiher on Thursday. Reiher was a 24th round draft pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. He played with the Gulf Coast League Braves (Rookie) in 2014 and 2015. Reiher played collegiately at Prarie State College (Illinois) and Coastal Carolina University and is a native of Blue Island, Illinois.
Reiher replaces Jaime Del Valle on the roster. Del Valle retired on Sunday after playing in parts of three seasons for Gary.
The RailCats conclude their four-game road series against the Canaries on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Braulio Torres-Perez (2-0, 4.80) counters against Sioux Falls left-hander Joe Bricher (2-3, 4.88) in the series finale.
Gary returns home to U.S. Steel Yard on Monday, June 19 for the start of a three-game series vs. Sioux City.
