RailCats announce newest round of 2021 player signings 

 

Adam Heidenfelder joins the RailCats from Rockland Boulders, where he pitched in three games in 2020. The right-handed pitcher graduated from the State University of New York at Old Wesbury, where he was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Third-Team All-New York Region. In 2019 Heidenfelder pitched 7.1 innings with 5 strikeouts, 31 batters faced and 2 earned runs.  

 

Infielder, Jose Mercado returns to the RailCats after being signed to his first professional contract in 2020. Mercado is a graduate of Concordia University Chicago. Mercado finished the 2019 season with a batting average of .366 with 70 hits in 191 at bats. 

 

Kirwin Moesquit, former 36th round pick for the Minnesota Twins in the 2014 MLB draft, joins the RailCats line up. Moesquit played for the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League in 2019. During the 2019 season, Moesquit slashed .203/.297/.278 with 16 hits, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 5 RBIs. 

 

Infielder, Katsuya Senoo joins the RailCats after spending the 2019 season with the Rockland Boulders with the Can-Am League. In 2019, Senoo played in 30 games with 118 at bats. He secured 40 hits, 7 RBIs, 3 stolen bases and a batting average of .339. 

 

Ryosuke Ohashi joins the RailCats from Yokohama, Japan. The infielder played for Tsuyumi University. 

Wisconsin native, Nikola Vasic joins the RailCats roster from Southern Illinois University CarbondaleThe right hander started all 55 games at second base his senior year. Vasic secured 48 hits, 9 doubles, 4 triples, 4 home runs 23 RBIs, 26 stolen bases and a .236 batting average.  

 

Outfielder, Billy Cook joins the RailCats after playing for the Everett AquaSox of the Northwest League in 2019. Cooke was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 8th round of the 2017 MLB June Amateur draft. In 83 plate appearances in 2019, Cooke slashed .304/.407/.507 with 21 hits, 2 home runs and 8 RBIs.
