GARY, Ind. — The GarySouthShore RailCats announced earlier the signing of left-handed pitcher Carlos Diaz. Diaz pitched for the Tucson Saguaros of the Pecos League last season, finishing 2-0 with a 5.29 ERA in four starts.

Diaz signed with the Cleveland Indians an undrafted free agent on February 27, 2012 out of La Vega, D.R. That summer, Diaz pitched for Indians’ Dominican Summer League team, going 2-5 with a 1.59 ERA in 12 games (11 starts). In 2013, Diaz went 1-2 with a 7.62 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Arizona League Indians.
