RailCats sign Catcher Sneed to First Professional Contract

FARGO, N.D. — The Gary SouthShore RailCats announced the signing of catcher Jeff Sneed on Sunday. Sneed most recently played for Newberry College (South Carolina) where he had a .331 batting average, a home run, and 37 RBI during his senior season at the school. Sneed in his junior season batted .314, with 3 home runs, and 34 RBI. He previously played at Louisburg College (North Carolina) before transferring to Newberry.

Gary returns home to U.S. Steel Yard on Monday, July 3rd for the start of a seven-game homestand. Monday’s game vs. Fargo-Moorhead is at 7:10 p.m. and is another MetroPCS Monday. Monday’s series opener against the RedHawks is also the inaugural Fourth of Juluau Pig Roast, presented by Berey Bros., and features Fireworks and Barefoot Hawaiian Fire Dancers.
