Aljamain Sterling



Sterling, who fights out of Uniondale, is currently holds a mixed martial arts record of 13-2. After starting his career off with 12 consecutive victories, the 26-year-old lost a split decision to Bryan Caraway on May 29th, 2016.

Fighting in the bantamweight division, Sterling was a two-time All-American Division III All-American at SUNY Cortland. Sterling made his name for himself while competing in Cage Fury Fighting, where he won and defended his Bantamweight Title.

Sterling made his CFFC debut in a featherweight bout against Evan Chmieleski. He won the fight by TKO with just two seconds left in the first round. The thrilling victory earned him a shot at the vacant CFFC Bantamweight Championship.

Sterling defeated Sean Santella via unanimous decision to capture his second professional title. He would go on to defend the CFFC Bantamweight Championship on three occasions. Sterling finished all three of his title defenses by rear naked choke, which earned him the opportunity to compete in the UFC.

In Januart against Raphael Assuncao at UFC on Fox 23 in Denver, he lost via split decison (28-29, 29-28,29-28.) 

In his last fight, Sterling defeated  Augusto Mendes on April 15 in Kansas City on UFC on Fox 24 via unanimous decison. 

His next fight wil be on July 29 at UFC 214 against Renan Barao in Anaheim, California.
