Tom Hoof

CMO/VP Marketing Communications
University of South Florida

Originally from Richmond, Va. I started my career in radio.  I spent 10 years in marketing at Walt Disney World in the Alliance Marketing Department.  We developed third party promotions to drive visitation to the Orlando Theme Parks. While at Disney I worked on 100 years of Magic, 50 Years of Disney Theme Parks, the Opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom  and the opening of Disney’s Wide World of Sports.  From there I became the VP of Marketing and Community Relations for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2006.  In late 2007 we changed the name of the team to the Rays.  We were the first baseball team to change its name and stay in the same city since 1965 Houston Colt 45’s changed to the Astros.   Led the development of post game concerts and over saw our promotional giveaways where ESPN the Magazine named us the best in sports in 2012 and 2013.  I am currently the VP/CMO for the University of South Florida where my department oversees the marketing and communication efforts for the entire University of 48,000 students including Admissions, Athletics, Brand Development.  I’m married and have three kids.
