Session Title: "STRATEGIC POWER: SYSTEMATICALLY INFLUENCING PEOPLE AND THEIR DECISIONS"

Session Description: This program is designed to help participants influence others and the decisions they make. In many cases, people try to get things done without understanding the other individuals involved in the process, their motivations and needs, and how they make decisions. Examples include: A suites sales person trying to convince a potential client to dig into another budget; a VP of Marketing persuading a President that the team should invest more in social media; and a company President jockeying for better premium seat positioning. There is a cliché: “People like to work with people they know and trust.” The ultimate success in creating or rebuilding that type of business relationship rests in implementing a systematic framework to achieve one’s influencing objectives.

Session Title: "DISCOVERING & DEVELOPING TOP TALENT: WATCH A PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEWER INTERVIEW YOUNG TALENT & TIPS ON DEVELOPING YOUR "COACHING TREE""

Session Description:
1. Hiring Top Talent. Conduct a real interview of student at the conference. For the lucky student’s benefit, I will ask him/her to provide me with a job description of a position that he/she would like after grad school. It will be a ~20 minute interview and it will be interactive with my asking of the interview questions, listening to the student’s answers and explaining the logic around the questions that I asked.
a. The thought process for this session is that executives in our industry have day jobs and it’s not as a professional interviewer/recruiter. Sometimes they hire people based on their gut, the candidate’s presence, etc. – but are they asking the right questions to really get to know the candidates and give them a fair shot?  I’d like to give them some good interview questions to ask young people whose resumes are still too light to speak to many accomplishments.
2. Develop Your “Coaching Tree.” How to develop top talent, when to grow them and when to let them go.

Session Title: "PROOF OF PERFORMANCE - BIG DATA DELIVERED DYNAMICALLY"

Session Description: Corporate and brand marketers are requiring their sponsored properties – especially high-dollar-value sports partnerships – to provide more sophisticated and dynamic proof-of-performance reporting that is ongoing and accessible from a mobile device, tablet or laptop.

Gone are the days of year-end or end-of-season static PowerPoint recap reports with supporting spreadsheets. Sports marketing and sponsorship has graduated to centralized, intuitively organized, mobile/online databases that capture all areas of sponsorship performance. Proof-of-performance reporting can combine several data elements, including:

- Primary Research Insights: sponsor fit, awareness, loyalty and image transfer among fans
- Valuation Highlights/Statements: intangible and tangible benefits, media coverage and activation value
- Media Exposure Monitoring: tracking of sponsor broadcast, print and online coverage
- Partnership Highlights: activation programs, imagery, summary of contracted rights and fulfillment of rights
- Property Review: attendance, imagery, news coverage, organizational/business performance/overview.
- Competitive Intelligence: sponsor activation best practices, spending trends, rights fee data
IEG will be sharing insights and knowledge that informs the sponsorship industry. This is a rare opportunity to interact with the experts that shape the industry. You will leave the session with a better understanding of:
  • The type of research and data necessary to meet the evaluation needs of partners
  • How to organize and present information in best-in-class proof-of performance reports
  • Using results reports as the basis for improving and/or renewing partnerships

Session Title: "ARE TICKETS JUST THE PRICE OF ENTRY?"

Session Description: Traditionally, professional sports teams/leagues marketing departments often see their goal as selling tickets. The problem is this is often dictated by team performance – something completely out of their control.

To avoid this pitfall, marketers must build a brand story that is record agnostic, with the ability to appeal to and engage fans on a deeper level. And in doing so, begin to cast a halo over the entire experience a fan has with a team.

In professional sports this equates to entertainment. A continual reminder of what it’s like to be there, experiencing the excitement of the big game. It makes you feel good to be a fan. It justifies your purchase, or the time spent yelling at the TV.

This is something consumer brands have known for decades. In this session, we will show you examples from some of our consumer clients like Nike, Ferrari and American Eagle Outfitters who have mastered the ability to create a brand experience.

When you wear Nike, you feel like Ronaldo setting up for the big penalty kick. Ferrari has turned car ownership into a highly desirable way of life, and American Eagle has mastered the ability to appeal perfectly to its users (the sought after millennial) as well as its purchasers (the ever critical mom). And we will show you how to take the lessons from some of the most successful consumer brands in the world and apply it to yours.

160over90 is a full-service branding and creative services firm that has vast experience generating results for a wide variety of clients, including Nike, Ferrari North America, American Eagle Outfitters, the NFL (the Philadelphia Eagles, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Jets), Under Armour, United States Tennis Association (USTA), UCLA, University of Notre Dame, University of Oregon, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Atlantic 10 Conference, University of Florida, and others.
