Native El Pasoan Ty Erramouspe has committed to play hockey at the University of Central Oklahoma after spending the last four seasons in Rhino Country.
Born in El Paso and growing up in the Sun City area, the forward starting playing hockey with the El Paso Hockey Association when he was three years old. He continued playing youth hockey with the EPHA travel program and played for Franklin High School’s club hockey team. In his final year of high school hockey, he also briefly earned a spot on the Rhinos’ roster for 14 games during the 2015-16 season. In his second year with the Rhinos, the 2016-17 season, he totaled 23 points in 43 games before earning another 55 points during the 2017-18 championship season. This year, he rounded out his final season of junior hockey with 60 points, 29 goals and 31 assists, in 48 regular season games. He also tallied seven points in the post-season and won the second championship of his junior career.
Erramouspe ranks among the franchise’s top five players in All-Time Goals and All-Time Games Played. He joins former Rhinos Simon Hobbis and Drake Cartwright on the Broncho roster and will play under UCO Assistant Coach and former Rhino captain and native El Pasoan Michael Rivera.
