The Rhinos rose above as they took home a serious win over the Knights in the series opener on Friday night.
To open the Rhinos vs Knights series, the El Paso impressed the crowd as they snatched an icy one goal lead over the Knights. Chaseton Sare, with the help of Brody Surette and Alex Johanson increased Phoenix’s deficit to two goals at the end of the first.
The second period began by Phoenix opponent, Cameron Chabot posted the Knights’ only goal of the game. Just over eight minutes later, Rhino forward Arturas Laukaitis scored two back to back goals before Sare earned his hat trick at the end of the second.
Hobbis, Timchenko, Camba and Pugliese also earned their own tallies during the final twenty minutes of play. Rhino netminder, Tymen Edelkoort, stopped all but one shot, despite only facing 12 shots.
Tomorrow, the puck drops at 7 pm for the second game of the series.
