El Paso Rhinos fall to the Wichita Thunder in the second game of the weekend series.
Despite the results, the hockey game was intense and close the entire time. As the first period began, the Rhinos slid their first puck into the net to start the game off with a 1-0 lead in the first 18 minutes.
After a penalty and a save by the Rhinos, the Thunder managed to move their way onto the scoreboard, tying the score, 1-1. As both teams skated off the ice, the Wichita Thunder had a 2-1 lead to conclude the 1st period.
The second period started with an impressive save by Adam Conkling. The scoreboard read, 3-1 in Thunder territory. As the Rhinos and the Thunder each skated goal to goal, the Rhinos managed to tighten the gap in points in the lead the Thunder managed to maintain. El Paso put up a fight but loosened the gap ending the second period with 5-3 on the scoreboard, Thunder led.
The Rhinos manage to skate another tie on the scoreboard, thanks to Evan Camba and an assist by Chaseton Sare, in the third period. The tie ultimately resulted in an overtime.
In overtime, Tymen Edlekoort made a save to benefit the Rhinos just before the Thunder slid yet another puck into their goal, giving the Rhinos as 6-5 win.
