(June 28, 2017 – Bridgeport, Ct.): The York Revolution scored eight times in the seventh inning, defeating the Bridgeport Bluefish 12-5 on Wednesday evening at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Having snapped a three-game skid, the Revs will go for the four-game split on Thursday night before returning home to host the Sugar Land Skeeters this weekend.
The eight-run inning was the Revs’ biggest since the 2014 season, and a 19-hit performance by the offense featured numerous big performances. Ryan Dent went 3-for-5 and drove in five with a three-run triple in the seventh and a two-run homer in the eighth. Isaias Tejeda went 4-for-6 with three doubles and a triple, becoming the first player in Revolution history to tally four extra-base hits in one game. Travis Witherspoon was 4-for-6 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs. Jared Mitchell went 3-for-4 with a double and a go-ahead sac fly in the seventh. Alonzo Harris doubled and cracked a two-run homer, his sixth in 14 games.
The Revs tied a season-high with their 19 hits along with their 15-9 win vs. Southern Maryland seven days earlier. Their 12 runs marked their second-highest total of the season behind only their performance from the previous Wednesday. York ripped three triples, tying a franchise record for a single game, and 10 of the 19 hits went for extra bases.
After failing to capitalize on one-out doubles in each of the first two innings, the Revs used a two-out RBI double from Tejeda to plate the game’s first run in the top of the third. The shot down the left field line brought home Witherspoon who had tripled to right two batters earlier.
Bridgeport jumped in front in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run homer to dead center field by Daniel Fields, his fifth home run in 10 games and eighth of the year. Revs starter Steve Janas faced further trouble with two outs, but left the bases loaded.
The Revs threatened in the fifth when Tejeda reached on a triple that was lost in the twilight by right fielder Ozney Guillen, followed by a walk to Michael Burgess. Angel Franco ripped a line drive back up the middle but Bluefish starter Jonathan Albaladejo knocked it down, denying the Revs of the tying run as he threw to first for the final out.
York did tie the game with four singles in the sixth, as Witherspoon’s base hit to center drew the score even at 2-2. Albaladejo avoided further damage though, retiring Harris on a line drive double play to end the inning.
The Bluefish went right back on top in the bottom of the sixth when Jonathan Galvez singled threw a drawn-in infield for a 3-2 lead. Janas gave way after 5.1 innings in a no-decision, as reliever Luke Westphal (2-5) retired Tony Abreu on a double play to end the inning, picking up the win when the Revs’ offense erupted shortly thereafter.
Tejeda led off the huge seventh with a hustle double to left-center and beat a throw to third on a fielder’s choice, allowing Burgess to reach. Franco laced a game-tying RBI single to right, and Alexi Casilla battled back from down 0-2 to walk, loading the bases with still no outs. Mitchell greeted lefty reliever Drake Britton with a sac fly to deep left, lifting the Revs ahead, 4-3. After an intentional walk to Carlos Triunfel, Dent emptied the bases with a three-run triple to right-center, blowing the game open at 7-3. Witherspoon then blooped an RBI hit, and Harris connected on his two-run homer to left-center. Dent added a titanic two-run homer to left, high off the netting above the fence in the eighth.
Bridgeport would scratch out single runs in the eighth and ninth to provide the final margin.

Notes: Tejeda’s three doubles ties a franchise record, becoming the seventh batter to accomplish the feat. The Revs’ only other game with three triples as a team came on September 18, 2009 in a victory at Somerset. The eight-run seventh inning was York’s biggest inning since scoring nine runs in the seventh inning of a 12-1 win at Somerset on June 3, 2014.
