GARY, IND. — A season-high three home runs from the RailCats offense, including two from All-Star Colin Willis, and seven shutout innings from Justin Sinibaldi led Gary to a 5-1 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Wednesday night in a game that was played in two hours, 23 minutes. Wednesday’s win was Gary’s first in six contests against Fargo-Moorhead and snapped the ‘Cats three-game losing skid.

Alex Crosby gave Gary (23-33) a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run down the right field line in the third. Marcus Mooney singled with one out before Crosby launched his second home run of the year.

Colin Willis increased the RailCats lead to 3-0 with a solo homer just inside the right field foul pole in the fourth. Willis’ homer was Gary’s second of three hit on the evening and the first of his two on the day.

Willis gave Gary their final runs with a two-run blast in the sixth. Will Savage singled to begin the inning before Willis clobbered a two-run blast down the right field line. Willis’ second homer also gave him his second career multi-homer game, both of which have come against Fargo-Moorhead.

Fargo-Moorhead (38-19) avoided being shutout on Chris Jacob’s solo blast with one out in the ninth. Jacobs’ homer was his second in as many games and the RedHawks eighth of the series.

Sinibaldi (3-4) recorded his second straight win and increased his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 12.1 after yielding just four singles and three walks. The right-hander added four strikeouts and has allowed just one run his last three starts and 20 innings pitched.
