GARY, IN – The Gary South Shore RailCats announced that the club has picked up the player options on the following players for the 2017 American Association Season.

RHP Richard Castillo, RHP Aryton Costa, RHP Jorge DeLeon, RHP Travis McGee, LHP Andy Roberts, RHP Charle Rosario, RHR Karl Triana, RHP Conrad Wozniak, C Jaime Del Valle, C Jose Gonzalez, INF Alex Crosby, INF Andy DeJesus, INF Elbert Devaire, INF John Holland, INF Frank Martinez, INF Jarred Mederos, OF Anthony Cheky, OF Kris Goodman, OF Chase Harris,OF Cameron Newell, OF Colin Willis and OF Reggie Wilson.

The club also announced the signing of RHP Santiago Rodriguez to a contract for 2017. Rodriguez a native of Mao, Dominican Republic was signed by the RailCats on May 21st of 2016 and went 6-5 for the SouthShore in 16 with a 2.98 ERA in 48.1 innings. The right hander struck out 39 in 36 appearances all in relief notching three saves.

Rodriguez originally was signed by the Chicago Cubs as a 19 year-old and spent two seasons in the organization playing in the Dominican summer league in 2014 and in the Arizona League in 2015. With the Cubs he went 9-2 with a 1.92 ERA in 93.2 and has a career record of 15-7 with a 2.60 ERA in 142.0 career innings over three seasons.

2017 will mark the 16th season of RailCats Baseball in Northwest Indiana and the club will also celebrate 15 years playing at their current home “The Steel Yard”.
