GARY, Ind. – The Gary SouthShore RailCats offense was dormant after the first inning as the Salina Stockade salvaged a
game in the season series with a 4-1 win on Friday. The loss ends a 13-game homestand for Gary as they finish the stretch 8-5.

Salina (10-55) took their first lead of the entire four-game series with a run in the top of the first. Roche Woodard drew a one-out
walk before Kewby Meyer flipped a single into left field for the first hit of the game. Jesse Baker was then hit in the shoulder to
load the bases. Cody Coffman followed with a walk, bringing home Woodard.

Gary (37-28) quickly responded with a run in the home half to tie the game at 1-1. Reggie Wilson drew a walk to extend his onbase
streak to 12 games. Wilson then stole second and third before Randy Santiesteban drew the second walk of the frame. Frank
Martinez increased his team-high RBI total to 46 with a two-out RBI single to scoring, bringing in Wilson to score from third.

The Stockade went back in front with a two-out run in the third. Baker drew a two-out walk before Coffman pulled a single to
right. A Josh Conway wild pitch advanced both baserunners 90 feet, giving a pair in scoring position. Troy Paris followed with
an RBI single through the right side, giving Salina back the lead at 2-1.

Salina added a run in the top of the sixth when Logan Trowbridge scored on throwing error from Jose Gonzalez after stealing
third base. Trowbridge advanced to first on a hit by pitch before advancing to second on an infield single from Jimmy Heck.
Trowbridge and Heck each successfully stole a bag as Gonzalez’s throw to third went errant that allowed Salina to bring across
its third run of the game.

The Stockade added an insurance run in the ninth. Heck started the inning with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch
before moving up to third on a Jordan Caillouet groundout. Heck scored Salina’s only ninth-inning tally on Scott Stetson’s single
to make the score 4-1.

Josh Conway (0-1) took the loss in his independent professional baseball debut going three innings and allowing two earned runs.
Conway gave up four hits and walked three. Jeff McKenzie pitched five innings in relief for Gary, allowing only an earned run
on three hits while striking out four.

Salina’s Josh Hodges (2-3) kept the RailCats at bay for nearly the entire night as he only allowed an earned run on four hits
through eight innings. He did walk four and struck out five during his outing. Tyler Herr (4) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to
earn the save for the Stockade.

Gary is idle on Saturday before beginning a three-game road trip on Sunday, July 30th against the Texas AirHogs at 6:05 p.m.
Neither team has announced their starting pitcher for Sunday’s series opener.
