Speed Mentoring Works (2015)!

This was my first time participating in a WISE event and I was very satisfied. I felt like the hot seat questions were directly towards me and I loved all the feedback from the mentors. They seemed very helpful and open to meeting everyone and making connections.
— Jasmine Elyse Billings, SMR Mentee ATL '15

WISE is a wonderful and beneficial organization. I was able to network and gain valuable information as I am getting ready to enter into the industry. I look forward to becoming a mentee and attending more events in the future. Thank you to the Atlanta chapter of WISE for this amazing event.
— Maya Branch, SMR Mentee ATL '15

The networking environment and atmosphere of the event made for a fun and interesting evening. I'm inspired to get to know the members, and continue to network with such an outstanding and energetic group of women. Thank you!
— Dyan Forrest Grealish, SMR Mentee SF '15

As a male member of WISE, I possibly thought the information wouldn't be geared for me. Boy, was I further from the truth. The facilitators and my peers were very sharp, encouraging, and concerned with how I could be successful in my career. I never once felt not welcomed, or that the information was only for female professionals. Due do the relevant types of questions and topics, this is a must attend for all WISE members and individuals in the sport industry — no matter where you are on your career path in sports.
Kevin Lamont Wilson, SMR Mentee DC '15

KEY LEARNINGS

Anyone can be a mentor regardless of age, career path or experience as we all have something to share.

In any conflict conversation, have an output that you are trying to reach. Don't argue just to be right.

Put tangible results on your resume.
Remain open and flexible to help those behind you.

Take initiative and research if you want to better yourself
