Rodin Scholarship
Rodin Scholarship In 2014, Coca Cola joined WISE to establish the Rodin Scholarship for the professional development of female small business owners. Up to five recipients will earn a partial scholarship of $4,000 to attend the WISE Executive Leadership Institute. The scholarship was inspired by WISE founder Sue Rodin, who has helped change the landscape for women in the sports business, especially related to gender equity, female entrepreneurship and the concept of building mentorships among women across the United States. "Coca-Cola is proud to join WISE in the establishment of the Rodin Scholarship," said Sharon Byers, senior vice president, sports and entertainment marketing at Coca-Cola North America, and 2013 WISE Women of the Year honoree. "This effort reinforces our global commitment to support the advancement of women in leadership positions and women's economic empowerment around the world. We are honored to recognize Sue Rodin's contributions to WISE, and the industry at large, that has benefited so many women with fantastic careers in sports." "My younger self would have never imagined going into business, let alone business for myself," said Rodin, who established WISE in 1993. "But when WISE was in its infancy, I realized that I was not alone. I'm Exhibit A, B and C of what WISE can do. And I'm humbled by this honor. Thank you to the WISE National Board and Coca-Cola for establishing this wonderful scholarship." Eligibility and Application In addition to the program's eligibility requirements, scholarship applicants must be employed by a WBENC certificate organization that has been in business for a minimum of three years and will be asked to upload a copy of their WBENC certificate at the end of the application form. |
