David Martin

David Martin will be attending his 14th National Sports Forum in Cincinnati, and this will be his twelfth consecutive as a Steering Committee member. 
 
He is bringing more than 20 years of sports-related sales and marketing experience, including the past nine specific to motorsports as the vice president of marketing and ticket sales for Kentucky Speedway and as an account director for GMR Marketing. While at Kentucky Speedway, David led all of the marketing, advertising, ticket sales & customer service initiatives for the Speedway. As a GMR account director, he led multiple NASCAR brand development programs consisting of mobile marketing, public relations, ROI, B2B partnership and hospitality/credential management elements for high-profile clients such as the Cintas Corp., AAA, Charter Communications and SPEED Channel.
 
Prior to joining GMR, he built his solid sports industry track record ascending from sales and marketing associate to vice president of marketing and sales with the Fresno Grizzlies Class-AAA Baseball Club from 1997-2003; serving as the director of operations and assistant general manager of the Class-A Winston-Salem Warthogs Baseball Club from 1994-1997; and manager, ticket sales and administration of the Class-A Sarasota White Sox Baseball Club from 1992-1994.
 
He earned a master’s in sports administration from Kent State Univ., in 1991 and a bachelor’s in physical education from the Univ. of Tampa in 1990.
 
He is married to Corinne Holman-Martin and recently relocated to the Charlotte, NC area with their dog Charlotte.
