Bonnie Tiell

Dr. Bonnie Tiell, Professor of Management at Tiffin University, is recognized for her contributions to intercollegiate athletic administration and global sports.  Tiell has worked with members of the World Olympians Association to supervise educational programs at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece; Beijing, China; London, England; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2016).  She has presented research and collaborated on sports projects in Edinburgh, Scotland; Vienna, Austria; Budapest, Hungary; Bratislava, Slovakia; Paris, France; Lausanne, Switzerland; Sydney, Australia; and Madrid, Spain. She has been invited to teach in Krasnoyarsk, Russia and Bucharest, Romania in 2015.  Tiell has extensive experience publishing research, facilitating leadership seminars, and conducting institutional and conference-wide gender equity audits.  She has been associated with the NCAA Women's Leadership Symposium since 2001. She served as Dean of Graduate Education and the NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative at Tiffin University.  Tiell received a Bachelor’s of Education from Troy University, a Masters in Sport Administration from the University of North Carolina, and a Doctorate in Sport Management and Human Resource Management from the United Sports Academy where she was recognized as the 2015 alumnus of year. As a former recipient of the Region 4 Excellence in Teaching Award through the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs, Tiell is also a member of the TU Athletic Hall of Fame and recipient of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Donahue Award.  She contributes a monthly column on sport and social issues for the Advertiser-Tribune newspaper and is co-authoring a textbook on Human Resources in Sports: A Managerial Approach. She resides in Tiffin, Ohio with her husband and two daughters.
