Houston twice rallied from a one-goal deficit and eventually took a 3-2 shootout victory over host Texas on Monday in preseason action at the Cedar Park Center. Jon DiSalvatore, Morten Madsen, and Pete Zingoni all tallied shootout goals for the Aeros, with Madsen (pictured) potting the game-winner in the third round.

Worcester struck for five goals in the first period and cruised to a 10-3 preseason win over Hartford on Sunday at the International Skating Center in Simsbury, Conn. Defenseman Michael Wilson posted two goals and an assist for the Sharks, and two-time AHL All-Star and team captain Ryan Vesce (pictured) had four assists.

A three-goal third period helped lift the Springfield Falcons to a 5-1 victory over the Providence Bruins on Saturday in preseason action at the MassMutual Center. Third-year forward Viacheslav Trukhno paced the Falcons' offense with two goals and an assist, and Charles Linglet also scored twice in the winning effort.

Like players of all ages, goalie Jordan Parise approaches the start of the new season with the enthusiasm of a rookie. Parise's shiny disposition required a lot of elbow grease, however, after the way the last three seasons alternately teased him with elation, deflation, pain, self-doubt, discovery and hope.
